Getting to my novel.

So I am about half way through with chapter seven. I’ve honestly been jumping around from where I’m at to where my novel will end. I wound’n’t recommend doing this. You can easily get lost in the timeline and get confused. I’ve done this and getting back on track is almost impossible. So I try to stay away from that. In this case, it’s really just key notes and main ideas so that when I come around to those important chapter or scene I already have an idea as to how I want to go about it. Anyways to I’ll leave you with that little suggestion and tip. I’m back writing and procrastinating. As always keep writing!

Getting to my novel.

So honestly, I haven’t written anything. Not that I’m having writers block but I’ve just been slacking. Work, my actual job, is getting hectic. I get home and all I wanna do is sleep. Nothing wrong with that. No ones a super human and we can only do so much before it catches up to us. Good news is that I will have the weekend to myself and the Monday for Labor day, super good news. I’m feel optimistic. Anyways, like I always say, keep writing and see you next Monday!

Getting to my novel.

So far so good. I have pretty much the nest two thousand words in my head and all I need to do is get them down on my laptop before they vanish back to where ideas come from. The only down side to getting them written down is the same reason why I’m late to writing this weeks update to, “Getting to my novel.” Life. Life has been getting out of hand. My real job, it not being writing, has been demanding more out of me than usual so when I get home I’m out of energy. It can get rough at times but I make the best I can. Even if I just write for an hour or so it adds up. So if you find yourself in the same kind of situation just know that if you write for at least thirty minutes out of the day, it will all add up by the end of the week. I mean lets be real, as much as we all want to be famously rich writers, we all have a life.

Getting to my novel.

The key to getting your novel finished is to continue writing. Especially if your on a roll. I’ll make this short as I’m currently writing right now. I am currently on chapter six. Last week I had struggled to work out what would happen on chapter five but after a long week of drafting out different outcomes I found the best one. It has worked out so well that it even helped me out in continuing the following chapter. So like I’ve always said and will continue to suggest to all writers, keep writing!

Getting to my novel.

I’m going to go ahead and write this before I forget like last week. Luckily, unlike last week, where I barely wrote a paragraph, I managed to write close to fifteen- hundred words. It didn’t come easy. I had to get away from the front screen of my laptop and take a drive. If there’s something I’ve learned about getting around writers block is letting go and getting fresh air. I’d be lying if I said I came back and wrote the fifteen- hundred words. I sat down and wrote down all the possible outcomes for the following chapter. I followed through with all of them and saw where they took me. I did that until I found the one that made sense. I’d tell you what it was but that would ruin the plot to my novel and it will give it all away. So you’ll just have to buy a copy when it releases. What I can tell you is how to get around writers block! Get away from your novel. Take a drive or walk in the park. Write down your best ideas and when you get back see where they take you. Before you know it, you’ll be writing and three hours have passed by! That’s what I’ve been up too. I hope I’ve helped you in the bit.

As always don’t forget keep writing!

Getting to my novel.

I’d be lying if I said things were going smoothly. Its nothing I can’t handle or anything out of the ordinary. I’ve just had trouble planning. These kinds of things happen to an artist I feel. One minute an idea is perfect and you plan it out and the execution should not falter but then the idea could come falling about with just a single hiccup. I guess you could say thats whats going on with me. I had a plan and now I’m debating if the story flows. Nonetheless, I am writing. You have to! I really believe that even when nothing is making sense everything will fall into place. Thats what happened in my previous novel and that piece of literature is much more complex than this novel. So I’ll keep writing even if none of it is making sense. I’m sure that near the middle I’ll move some paragraphs around and maybe some chapters and it will all come together smoothly. So thats where I’m at with my novel. Where are you?

Oh, and before I forget don’t forget to keep writing!

Getting to my novel.

I’m late in writing this. I’ve been busy with a painting that just could not give me the time of day to ignore it. I finished it a bit rushed but it was good enough to let go for another time. With this having been said, I have not added anything to my novel. I’m questioning its plot sequence and trying to figure out what the best next movie is. I’m debating between introducing a key character into the scene or continuing the protagonist quest. Whatever I decide, determined a lot of where my novel goes so I’m taking my time and not rushing into anything I’m going to regret later. Sometimes its better to just sit back and not write. I hope I get to write a bit more this week.
